Reflections on the popularity of NFL football – Part 2

Life in the Usa and the NFL

This past weekend there was a great game in the NFL beteween the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. The game was only suppose to be on the NFL network but a couple days before NFL gave in to broadcast game on National TV

This I didnt care because I had Direct TV

The game itself was a great one with the Giants leading until the 4th quarter.

A Brady to Moss 65 yard bomb gave the Pats the lead 31 to 28 early in the 4th quater

A few giants miscues cost them then a Manning interception clinched it as Pats scored again basicly icing the game

The popularity of this sport is amazing at this time of year

Does anyone like this 55 year old remember in the 1960s when you were lucky to get one game on a Sunday afternoon. When Joe namath and the old AFL changed the sport beginning with

salaries From 1970 til today the game has just got bigger and bigger

We are on the verge of pay per view for the NFL, Teams are trying to make money also

and with the advertising and marketing and the internet the resources are endless.

From early September to this time of year whether its the dressed up fan or the casual

person who glances at the Tv NFL football sparks an interest in everyone

I was reading where the Giants won there first championship after only 3 years in the NFL

How the NFL prevailed during the depression and the war years. Where some teams had to

combine to make one team during WW2

There was WFL ,the USFL ,the AFL leagues that tried to compete who eventually gave up to the dominance of the NFL

Whether its the esculating salaries of the players and ticket prices hitting the roof

the fans keep coming back,

The NFL is the greatest sport on the Planet
